Description
South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks established this competitive program to promote firearm and archery shooting opportunities for the public across South Dakota. It helps nonprofit organizations and agencies establish public shooting ranges or upgrade, expand, and improve existing ones.
The program is part of the department’s work with partners to sustain outdoor recreation and connect friends, families, and future generations with the outdoors. Its funding comes from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Wildlife Restoration Program, also known as the Pittman-Robertson Program, which is supported by federal excise taxes on firearms, ammunition, and archery equipment.
