Description
The Folger Institute’s Short-term Scholarly Fellowships support concentrated periods of full-time research drawing on the Folger Shakespeare Library’s collections and programs. Fellows may work fully onsite, fully virtually, or through a hybrid schedule, while engaging with an interdisciplinary research community and receiving informal feedback. The Institute prioritizes early modern humanities research addressing inequities or marginalized subjects and contributing to richer, more inclusive histories.
Supported work includes primary-source research, reviewing archival notes and images, writing or revising articles and manuscripts, and creating digital resources for undergraduate classrooms. Virtual fellowships help reduce financial, professional, and personal barriers to participation, supporting dedicated research time as well as access to digitized collections and other online resources.
