Description
The Newberry Library Short-Term Fellowships provide funding for scholars—both PhD holders and advanced doctoral candidates (ABD)—to spend one month in residence at the Newberry Library in Chicago. Fellows engage deeply with the library’s unique collections, conducting research essential to their projects and participating in the vibrant scholarly community. These fellowships are open to a broad range of disciplines, provided that the proposed project demonstrates a clear need to consult specific items from the Newberry’s holdings. Multiple specialized fellowships are available, including those for Indigenous scholars and members of certain academic consortia.
