The Short-Term Fellowship Program at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) enables early-career researchers—including graduate students, undergraduates, and postdoctoral researchers—to conduct research in tropical environments. Fellows gain access to STRI’s facilities and resources in Panama, fostering scientific and academic development through immersive, independent projects. The program is designed primarily for graduate students but is occasionally open to undergraduates and postdocs, supporting a broad range of research in tropical biology and related fields.
