The New York Public Library's Short-Term Research Fellowships provide financial support to scholars engaged in graduate-level, post-doctoral, professional, or independent research in the arts and humanities. The fellowship is intended for projects that require in-person research using the NYPL’s distinctive collections, conducted onsite at one of its three research centers: the Library for the Performing Arts, the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, or the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building. Applicants must clearly demonstrate the necessity of NYPL’s holdings for their project and are encouraged to explore the library’s research resources to inform their proposals.
