Description
The Sigma Pi Sigma Chapter Project Award, administered through the Society of Physics Students National Office, supports chapter inductions and events that engage alumni or expand recognition of Sigma Pi Sigma on campus and in surrounding communities. Projects may build connections between alumni and new members, add distinction to induction ceremonies, increase inductions, encourage chapter and scholarship fundraising, promote inter-chapter activities, or recognize outstanding chapter-level achievement.
Supported activities include joint induction dinners honoring local physicists, lunches with representatives of physics businesses, science fair recognition, undergraduate mentoring, and tutoring. The program emphasizes imaginative, thoughtfully planned activities reflecting Sigma Pi Sigma’s mission to honor scholarship, encourage interest in physics, promote service, and provide fellowship.
