This opportunity supports the establishment of Silvio O. Conte Digestive Diseases Research Core Centers (DDRCCs), part of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) program. The DDRCCs aim to bring together basic and clinical investigators to foster communication, collaboration, and the effectiveness of ongoing research related to digestive and/or liver diseases. Centers are organized around a central, NIDDK-relevant theme and are designed to provide shared resources that promote research productivity, synergy, and innovation among investigators.
DDRCCs are intended to support a cost-effective infrastructure for research by providing shared core resources and fostering new research directions. Each Center must focus on a theme within the NIDDK’s primary mission, not overlapping with areas primarily funded by other NIH Institutes or Centers.
