The International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) offers Young Investigator Awards to help young investigators working in paediatric oncology present their original research at its Annual Meeting. The award supports participation in the congress through free registration and financial assistance toward travel and accommodation for an in-person event. It supports the presentation of research rather than funding a new research project.
Research quality is central to selection. Awards recognise the highest-ranking abstracts assessed against predefined general quality criteria, with prospective multicentre studies and presentations of large translational projects specifically highlighted. The award is also a key activity of the Young SIOP Network, which provides opportunities to develop research and scientific skills and build international connections in paediatric oncology.
