Description
The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) administers the Site Development Grant using legislatively approved funding through the Rural Economic Opportunity Fund. The program improves nationally recognized Select Tennessee certified sites and prepares other sites to achieve certification, supporting infrastructure construction, property acquisition and improvements, and due diligence studies.
Eligible work includes transportation and utility infrastructure, site clearing and grading, drainage improvements, and virtual site planning. The program also supports rehabilitation of publicly owned industrial buildings, brownfield remediation, and speculative building construction. Projects are assessed for public benefit and impact, performance measures, leveraged resources, and implementation. Short-listed applicants present their projects to help determine final scoring and awards.
