Description
The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (DEM) Site Remediation Program regulates and provides technical oversight for investigations and cleanup of hazardous waste, hazardous material, and petroleum releases. It assesses threats to human health and the environment, evaluates remedies, and supports the reuse of contaminated properties through its Brownfields work. The program encourages voluntary responses and aims for protective, timely, cost-effective remediation.
