Description
The Texas Workforce Commission administers the Skills Development Fund with appropriations from the Texas Legislature. It supports customized training shaped around a business’s workforce needs, whether preparing new hires or upgrading the skills of existing employees. The program aims to raise skill levels and wages across Texas.
Eligible colleges, workforce boards, Texas A&M training organizations, and qualifying community-based organizations develop projects with businesses. The fund can also support customized training for trade unions and small or medium-sized business networks and consortia. Proposals are considered throughout the year.
