Description
The Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) administers School Library Access Mini-Grants for publicly funded elementary and secondary schools across Idaho. The program funds books for school library collections, addressing limited home-reading access for preschool, kindergarten, and first-grade students and outdated middle and high school collections that no longer meet students’ academic or recreational needs.
The grants help libraries provide quality, age-appropriate books students can read at school or take home, particularly where the school library is their only reliable source of home reading materials. Alongside collection purchases, recipients receive a free day of library-specific professional development, support for additional school literacy projects, and resources and on-demand assistance during the implementation year.
