The European Sleep Research Society (ESRS) provides travel grants to help participants who need financial assistance attend the Sleep Europe congress and present their scientific work. The programme particularly supports people at the beginning of their careers and researchers working in lower-middle- and low-income countries, as classified by the World Bank. Support is tied to presenting an accepted congress abstract rather than undertaking a separate research project.
The programme also includes a travel-grant pathway through the Early Career Scientists’ Symposium. ESRS has offered this platform since 2006 to showcase excellent work by early career professionals, including students, postdoctoral researchers and clinicians. Authors selected for the symposium receive a travel grant, with one grant available per laboratory.
