Description

Lloyd’s Register Foundation’s small grants programme supports activities that initiate, build or consolidate partnerships, test ideas through pilot studies and proof-of-concept projects, and generate learning that improves safety. Technical and non-technical work is welcome, including desk-based research, fieldwork, public engagement, education, skills training and knowledge exchange. Projects should advance the safety of life and property through engineering, risk or systems approaches, with potential for future collaboration or wider impact.

The programme has particular interest in proposals using insights from any World Risk Poll wave. These may involve secondary analysis, evidence generation, synthesis or exploration of specific issues, producing new knowledge or resources valuable to a defined audience. The Foundation’s strategic priorities include safer maritime systems, skilled people for safer engineering, and safer sustainable infrastructure. Projects may focus on one sector; cross-sector work is not required.
