The Smart Growth Grants, offered by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) under its Community Development Advocacy Program, are designed to help state and local REALTOR® associations promote and implement smart growth principles in their communities. These grants support programs, policies, and initiatives that foster sustainable, economically vibrant, and livable communities—emphasizing mixed land uses, walkable neighborhoods, diverse transportation options, and collaborative community development.
Eligible projects include advocacy, education, and stakeholder engagement activities that advance one or more of NAR’s 10 Smart Growth Principles. Funding can be used for speakers, stakeholder meetings, temporary or permanent placemaking projects, and broader community-impact initiatives.
