This call from the European Space Agency (ESA), in collaboration with ELES (Slovenia’s system operator), seeks proposals for operational solutions that leverage space-enabled technologies—such as satellite Earth observation, communications, and navigation—to address critical challenges in electricity grid management. The focus is on improving the resilience, efficiency, and security of grids by advancing operational awareness, environmental monitoring, predictive maintenance, and situational awareness. Proposals should address real-world needs in forecasting, grid operations, dynamic thermal rating, asset intelligence, digital twin integration, and advanced analytics to support critical infrastructure protection, climate resilience, and emergency preparedness.
