    Description

The Society for Mathematical Biology (SMB) provides Landahl Annual Meeting Travel Awards to help students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior scientists attend its Annual Meeting. The awards recognize excellence in mathematical biology and encourage interaction among mathematical biologists throughout the world. They provide partial support for conference attendance rather than funding a separate research project, connecting travel assistance with participation through contributed talks, minisymposium talks, or contributed posters.

Selection centers on scientific merit and excellent research achievements. Funding is also available to senior scientists in countries with limited resources and scientists with limited access to financial support for meeting attendance. Recipients are expected to join the meeting’s mentoring program, and helping at the SMB booth is customary.
