Description
Smile Strong New Jersey is a statewide initiative of the New Jersey Department of Health. It supports oral health education and literacy, access to preventive services, and the establishment of a dental home so people can receive ongoing care throughout their lives.
The initiative reaches children in Head Start and Early Head Start and students from Pre-K through grade 12, as well as school nurses, school staff, parents, community organizations, and parenting groups. It also focuses on vulnerable populations, including pregnant women and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Its emphasis is on evidence-based education, prevention, and community-based service delivery for underserved, high-need, and high-risk populations.
