Description
The Smithsonian Postgraduate/Postdoctoral Fellowships in Conservation of Museum Collections Program provides recent graduates of master's programs in art and archaeological conservation, as well as materials scientists (including those at the postdoctoral level), with the opportunity to conduct research and receive advanced training in the conservation of museum objects. Fellows work within Smithsonian conservation laboratories under the guidance of Smithsonian staff, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the advancement of conservation knowledge and practice. The fellowship aims to foster professional development and scholarly contributions to the field of museum collection preservation.
