    Description

The Josephine Martin National Policy Fellowship, offered through the School Nutrition Association (SNA) and School Nutrition Foundation (SNF), supports one school nutrition staff member’s participation in SNA’s Legislative Action Conference (LAC). The award helps defray travel expenses so the selected fellow can attend and be recognized at this national school nutrition policy event.

The fellowship honors Dr. Josephine Martin, a pioneer in child nutrition whose advocacy influenced legislation at community, state, and federal levels. Martin began her career in 1950 as assistant school lunch director at the Georgia Department of Education. The fellowship reflects SNA’s work to advance school nutrition programs and SNF’s role in supporting professional development for SNA members.
