The Southern Nursing Research Society (SNRS) Research Grant supports new investigators as they initiate or build a program of research that advances nursing science and practice. It funds quantitative and qualitative research on any topic relevant to the nursing profession, without limiting proposals to a particular specialty or research approach. Research undertaken for course credit is not eligible.
The program is funded through the SNRS Research Fund and administered by the Grants Committee. Peer review emphasizes significance to nursing, scientific merit, and innovation, alongside the appropriateness of the methods and the research team's qualifications. Reviewers also assess subject protections and whether the proposed environment, budget, and time frame support the work.
