    Description

The Social Justice Fund at the Pittsburgh Foundation supports efforts to address the root causes of inequity and increase the engagement, power and influence of community members affected by economic inequality. Co-designed by Foundation staff and social justice leaders, it emphasizes social change led by people closest to the issues being addressed, particularly communities that are least well off politically, economically and socially.

Launched in spring 2018, its General Support Grant Program provides flexible operating support for organizations engaged in advocacy, mobilization and healing. The program aims to strengthen the infrastructure for social justice work in the Pittsburgh region by supporting organizational development and long-term planning. An advisory committee plays an important role in oversight of the fund.
