The Social Policy Association’s Career-Launch Research Grant facilitates research by early-career researchers who are SPA members. It aims to create space for researchers to sustain momentum and secure concrete achievements at a career stage when competing pressures and demands can make progress difficult, particularly within an increasingly competitive research funding environment.
Supported work spans a range of social policy questions and research activities. Grant-holder projects include trauma-informed teaching and learning in higher education, changing social relationships in the digital era, mobility justice in marginalised urban communities, and comparative research on middle classes and social policy in Southeast Asia and the UK. Activities include exploratory studies, participatory research, scoping reviews, workshops, research discussions and network development.
