    Description

The Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy (APA Division 29) established this grant to promote diversity within the Society and the profession of psychotherapy. It supports pre-doctoral candidates currently conducting dissertation research, with funding intended to help bring that work to completion.

The program follows the American Psychological Association’s definition of diversity: individual and role differences based on age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, religion, disability, language, and socioeconomic status. Research supplies, necessary training, and travel to present findings can be supported. Selection emphasizes scientific quality, feasibility, contributions to psychotherapy, and prospects for publication or further successful research.
