Summary: Two research awards support endocrine surgery and thyroid cancer research and advance junior investigators’ academic careers.
Key Information: Applicants may apply for both awards but cannot receive both at once; eligibility differs by award.
The American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES) Foundation offers two Society Grants to advance the science and art of endocrine surgery. The Paul LoGerfo Research Award honors a former AAES president and supports junior investigators pursuing careers in academic endocrine surgery. The ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association Award for Thyroid Cancer Research, supported by ThyCa, promotes thyroid cancer research by AAES members.
Both awards welcome research in surgical ethics, education, epidemiology, biostatistics, health care delivery, and clinical or basic science within their respective fields. They may also provide bridge or supplemental funding for research protocols that already have support. The LoGerfo award seeks to broaden endocrine surgery’s horizons while advancing junior investigators’ career goals.
