The Society of Toxicology’s Best Postdoctoral Publication Awards recognize outstanding papers arising from research conducted during formal, mentored postdoctoral traineeships. Presented by the Society’s Postdoctoral Assembly (PDA), these awards honor completed, published work in toxicology rather than fund a proposed research project. Applicants do not need to remain in a postdoctoral position when they apply.
The program emphasizes scientific innovation and a paper’s impact on toxicology, alongside the applicant’s statement, the advisor’s nomination and statement, and journal impact. The PDA Executive Board and outside reviewers with appropriate scientific expertise assess applications under conflict-of-interest, confidentiality, and nondisclosure guidelines. Three awards are presented at the PDA Luncheon during the SOT Annual Meeting.
