The Society of Toxicology’s Metals Specialty Section recognizes early-career scientists who have made significant contributions to metals toxicology, particularly through interdisciplinary research connecting the field with other scientific disciplines. Supported by the Bruce A. Fowler Metals Endowment Fund, this award honors scientific achievement rather than funding a specified new research project.
Selection focuses on excellence in interdisciplinary metals toxicology, with attention to the originality, creativity, and impact of the nominee’s scientific contributions. Trainees and scientists within the stated post-degree experience limit may be nominated, and candidates may nominate themselves. Recipients receive an engraved plaque and cash stipend at the Annual SOT Meeting.
