Funding Amounts: First place: $1,000 and a plaque; second place: $750
Summary: Recognizes graduate student research integrating emerging sciences to understand environmental carcinogenesis mechanisms, susceptibility, or prevention.
Key Information: Applicants must be graduate students; Carcinogenesis Specialty Section membership is not required.
The Society of Toxicology’s Carcinogenesis Specialty Section (CSS) invites graduate students to submit research abstracts for its Environmental Carcinogenesis Merit Award. Supported by the Environmental Carcinogenesis Research Fellowship Fund of the SOT Endowment, the competition recognizes first- and second-place graduate student research in environmental carcinogenesis.
The award focuses on studies that integrate emerging sciences to help define mechanisms of carcinogenesis, susceptibility to carcinogenesis, and/or its prevention. Relevant approaches include genomics, transcriptomics, epigenetics, metabolomics, microbiomics, exposomics, and other emerging sciences. Awards are announced during the CSS meeting at the SOT Annual Meeting.
