    Description

The Society of Toxicology’s Graduate Intern Fellowship in Toxicology Award (GIFT) supports doctoral students seeking scientific and professional development beyond their normal graduate training. Internships must take place outside the trainee’s academic institution and offer experiences beyond the resources of their graduate training or research program. The program aims to help students enter professional toxicology positions through exposure to toxicologists’ day-to-day work and career paths in industry, government, and nonprofit organizations.

Priority goes to toxicology-related internships with clearly defined objectives, research goals, career-development activities, and methodologies to be acquired. The Education and Experiential Opportunities Committee (EEOC) administers the award, with support from the James Bond-Michele Medinsky Graduate Student Development Temporary Fund.
