It recognizes scientific and regulatory accomplishments as well as community service, with a recognition plaque for the recipient’s laboratory or office rather than project funding.
The award considers achievements that have substantially influenced toxicology, stimulated new research directions, or advanced the field through the creation or implementation of regulations. It also recognizes institutional contributions, leadership within SOT or HOT, mentoring, community service, and national or international advisory and decision-making activities. Across these areas, the emphasis is on contributions to toxicological sciences and the protection and promotion of public health.
