The Inhalation and Respiratory Specialty Section (IRSS) of the Society of Toxicology (SOT) administers this award to recognize outstanding graduate student contributions to inhalation or respiratory toxicology. It honors research presented at the SOT Annual Meeting, focusing on the significance of the results and the student’s role in the work.
Scientific merit is central to the review, with service also considered. The application gives students an opportunity to explain their study’s rationale, its relationship to inhalation or respiratory toxicology, and its influence on their career goals. Advisor support should demonstrate the student’s scientific achievement, research contributions, collaborative efforts, initiative, leadership, and service. Recipients are recognized during the IRSS business meeting at the annual SOT meeting.
