Summary: Recognizes postdoctoral trainees for outstanding immunotoxicology research presented through abstracts at the SOT Annual Meeting.
Key Information: ITSS membership is required for full consideration (pending applications accepted), and applicants must plan to attend the SOT Annual Meeting.
The Society of Toxicology’s Immunotoxicology Specialty Section (ITSS) recognizes postdoctoral trainees whose work in immunotoxicology deserves recognition. The award centers on research submitted to the SOT Annual Meeting and considers the significance of the project, the results presented, and the trainee’s contribution to the research.
Applicants submit an extended abstract explaining their role and the project’s significance to immunotoxicology, supported by a mentor’s assessment of the work’s impact. Reviewers evaluate the quality of the extended abstract’s content, the project rationale, and the significance of the results. Final decisions are made by the ITSS Awards Committee, chaired by the Senior Councilor.
