    Description

The Society of Toxicology’s In Vitro and Alternative Methods Specialty Section (IVAMSS) presents this award to recognize published research that advances in vitro and alternative methods. It recognizes scientific achievement in a peer-reviewed paper rather than funding a proposed project. The paper’s potential impact on the field is central to the award.

IVAMSS interests include basic toxicological and pharmacological mechanisms across organ systems, along with the design, development, and application of in vitro and alternative methodologies for predictive toxicology and risk assessment. Its overarching goal is to encourage sound, science-based test systems as rapid, cost-effective alternatives to animal testing. Recognition is directed to the winning paper’s first author in connection with the SOT Annual Meeting.
