The Society of Toxicology (SOT) Undergraduate Educator Award recognizes an educator whose outstanding contributions to undergraduate teaching in toxicology and related areas support the Society’s commitment to “build for the future of toxicology.” Sponsored by the SOT Endowment Fund, the award recognizes teaching accomplishment, scholarship of teaching, contributions to regional or national education efforts, and impact on students.
Relevant contributions include instructional publications, textbooks, laboratory activities, case studies, and presentations on undergraduate teaching and pedagogy. Recognition also considers participation in SOT’s educational mission and student outcomes, including graduate study, publications, presentations, and participation in professional meetings. The award was first presented at SOT’s 50th Anniversary Annual Meeting. Its 2027 name honors Lois Lehman-McKeeman’s contributions to the SOT Endowment Fund and attainment of Paracelsus Circle Visionary Status.
