The Mid-Atlantic Regional Chapter of the Society of Toxicology (MASOT) administers this memorial graduate student award with support from SafeBridge Consultants, Inc. It recognizes graduate student presenters at the MASOT meeting through a drawing, rather than providing funding for a particular research topic or project.
The award honors Conney W. Berger Jr., PhD, DABT, a toxicologist, mentor, and former MASOT president who died in 2017. Berger served as chapter president in 2014–2015 and contributed knowledge gained through his work in industry and toxicology consulting. Established with his family’s approval and help defining its criteria, the award commemorates his mentorship, dedication to toxicology, and service to MASOT and SOT.
