It recognizes a candidate’s career accomplishments and service, with particular emphasis on the strength of the mechanistic focus of their research. This is a career achievement honor rather than support for a specified new research project.
Mechanisms Specialty Section members are invited to nominate colleagues, and self-nominations are welcome. Selection considers the candidate’s mechanistic research focus alongside letters describing research accomplishments and service. The recipient is announced at the Mechanisms Specialty Section business meeting during the SOT Annual Meeting.
