Key Information: Nominations require letters from two individuals and the nominee’s most recent curriculum vitae.
The Society of Toxicology’s Metals Specialty Section (MSS) Career Achievement Award honors a senior investigator for an established body of research that has substantially advanced understanding of metals toxicology. Rather than supporting a proposed research project, it recognizes scientific achievement, with the depth, breadth, and significance of contributions serving as the most important evaluation criterion.
The award also recognizes influence on the education, training, and mentorship of young scientists in government, industry, or academia. Other criteria include leadership and service to metals toxicology, such as involvement in the Metals Specialty Section or organizing relevant scientific meetings and foundations, and contributions to regulatory and risk assessment decisions involving metals toxicology data.
