The Dr. Hillary M. Carpenter, III Northland Society of Toxicology (NLSOT) Merit Award, offered through the Society of Toxicology, honors a current or former NLSOT member for distinguished service and contributions to the chapter and the field of toxicology. It recognizes documented achievements rather than funding a proposed research project. Service to NLSOT is the central selection priority.
Supporting achievements include advancing toxicology through teaching, research, and regulatory activities, as well as committee service or work in other toxicology organizations. A committee of three volunteers from the current year’s NLSOT Executive Committee reviews nominees and grants the honor only when warranted. Recipients are named before the fall meeting and encouraged to attend for official recognition.
