Key Information: Nominees must be current or retired NTSS members with contributions spanning more than 15 years.
The Society of Toxicology’s Neurotoxicology Specialty Section (NTSS) administers this award to honor important, high-impact contributions to neurotoxicology. It recognizes sustained achievement rather than funding a proposed research project. Contributions may encompass science, regulatory work, service, or mentoring, with selection emphasizing originality, innovation, excellence, and demonstrated leadership in the field.
An annually appointed NTSS Distinguished Award Committee reviews nominations and determines whether an award will be made. Recognition is given when a deserving individual is identified, rather than at fixed intervals. The recipient is honored at the NTSS reception during the SOT Annual Meeting, receives a plaque, and gives a brief speech about their experience as a neurotoxicologist.
