Summary: Recognizes a student or postdoctoral first author’s peer-reviewed research in occupational health, environmental public health, or an associated discipline.
Key Information: Nominees must be SOT members and obtain a nomination letter from someone other than themselves.
The Society of Toxicology’s OPHSS Best Manuscript Award recognizes published research materially related to occupational health, environmental public health, or an associated discipline. It honors the first author of a paper published in a peer-reviewed journal during the preceding calendar year, with eligibility focused on student and postdoctoral SOT members.
This is a manuscript award rather than funding for a proposed research project: the published paper is the basis for recognition. The author must have been affiliated with a recognized university, research-based institute, or company while conducting the work. The recipient receives a plaque and a cash award.
