The Society of Toxicology’s Regulatory and Safety Evaluation Specialty Section (RSESS) established this award in 2021 to recognize an individual who has made significant contributions to regulatory and safety evaluation. It honors accomplishments rather than supporting a proposed research project, including advances in safety evaluation, development of regulations or guidance documents, and extensive contributions to the regulatory and safety field.
The award also recognizes major influence on the education, training, and mentorship of young scientists in government, industry, and academia. Leadership and service—including involvement in RSESS or other organizations related to regulatory and safety assessment—are among the contributions considered. The recipient is recognized at the RSESS reception during the Society of Toxicology’s annual meeting in March.
