Description
The Society of Toxicology (SOT), through its SCCT Specialty Section, recognizes a postdoctoral scholar whose research is directly relevant to sustainable toxicology, green toxicology, and/or New Approach Methodologies (NAMs). The award highlights work with the potential to significantly impact these fields, particularly through rigorous and unique approaches to assessing the toxicity of chemicals or materials.
Research within scope includes alternatives assessment, the circular economy, eco certifications and endorsements, hazard reduction, informed substitution, and regrettable substitution. Safer design, sustainability, sustainable development, and sustainable packaging are also relevant topics. One recipient receives a cash award and certificate, presented at the SCCT Specialty Section reception during the SOT Annual Meeting.
