Key Information: Nominees must be Full or Associate RDTSS members, 10–20 years beyond their last formal training.
The Society of Toxicology’s Reproductive and Developmental Toxicology Specialty Section (RDTSS) offers this award to recognize outstanding contributions during the middle stage of a scientist’s professional career. Named in honor of Stephen B. Harris, it celebrates sustained scientific excellence, innovation, leadership, and mentorship across research, education, regulatory science, and professional service.
Rather than supporting a specified new research project, the award honors a record of achievement since graduate or postdoctoral training. It emphasizes originality, discovery, and excellence demonstrated through scientific publications, teaching, mentorship, leadership, and contributions to regulatory developmental and reproductive toxicology (DART) practice and guidelines. Honorees serve as models of scientific leadership and professional engagement.
