The Society of Toxicology (SOT) Undergraduate Development Program Advisor Travel Award supports faculty advisors’ participation in the Undergraduate Development Program at the SOT Annual Meeting. The program introduces advisors and students to toxicology, related career opportunities, and academic program directors. It aims to encourage promising undergraduate science majors interested in research careers to pursue graduate study in biomedical sciences, especially toxicology.
Advisors experience student programming firsthand through presentations, a case study, and discussions of graduate programs and research careers. Advisors and students join mentor groups led by senior toxicologists and trainee mentors to build lasting professional connections. By helping advisors become more familiar with toxicology, SOT seeks to strengthen their ability to guide students toward these educational and career paths.
