The WIT Best Manuscript Award is offered by the Society of Toxicology through its Women in Toxicology (WIT) Special Interest Group. It honors an outstanding published manuscript demonstrating exceptional scholarship and impact in advancing an area of toxicology. Rather than supporting a proposed research project, the award recognizes work already published in journals related to toxicological sciences, new approach methods, risk assessment, or public and ecological health impacts.
The award emphasizes advancement of the science or application of toxicology, including innovation and demonstrated impact. It follows the approach of best manuscript awards offered by SOT specialty sections. Recipients receive a certificate or plaque and share the recognized work through a webinar during the subsequent year.
