    Description

The Society of Toxicology’s Women in Toxicology Special Interest Group (WIT SIG) offers this graduate award to recognize and encourage women developing careers in toxicology. It supports students pursuing a master’s degree or PhD in toxicology or a closely related discipline. Selection emphasizes scientific merit and outstanding leadership and service to the scientific and toxicology community, alongside support for education, research-related expenses, and travel to scientific conferences.

The award is funded through the WIT endowment and honors Anne Wolven Garrett and past and future female leaders of SOT. Garrett was an early toxicology leader whose estate provided the endowment’s initial support. The graduate award is part of a broader program with separate undergraduate and postdoctoral awards, each with its own eligibility requirements.
