    Description

The Society of Toxicology’s Women in Toxicology (WIT) Special Interest Group offers this award to recognize and encourage women in the early stages of their toxicology careers. The postdoctoral award honors scientific merit alongside outstanding leadership and service to the scientific and toxicology community. It supports education and research-related expenses, including travel to scientific conferences.

The award honors Anne Wolven Garrett, an early toxicology leader and one of the first women active in SOT leadership, as well as past and future female leaders of the Society. Her estate provided the initial support, and the award is now funded through the WIT endowment’s Celebrating Women in Toxicology Award Fund. Separate undergraduate and graduate awards have different eligibility requirements.
