Description
The State Agriculture Development Committee (SADC) administers these grants through New Jersey’s Farmland Preservation Program as part of its post-preservation stewardship work. The program reimburses approved projects that prevent or control erosion, reduce pollution, manage water for agricultural purposes, or improve land and soil for agricultural productivity. The State Soil Conservation Committee outlines eligible project types.
Supported practices may include terracing, grassed waterways, stream protection, drainage and irrigation systems, livestock watering facilities, animal waste control, and agrichemical handling facilities. Other listed practices include diversions, contour farming, strip-cropping, windbreaks, critical area vegetation, sediment or water control structures, and forest tree stand improvements and plantations.
