Description
The State Agriculture Development Committee (SADC) administers Soil & Water Planning Grants through New Jersey’s Farmland Preservation Program. The grants help farmers obtain farm conservation plans and engineering designs needed to complete conservation projects. This planning work can prepare projects for implementation, including Soil & Water Grant projects that require conservation practice designs.
The grants are part of the SADC’s post-preservation stewardship opportunities. Conservation plans are required for preserved farms and for applicants to SADC grants. The SADC also oversees monitoring of preserved farms for compliance with their farmland preservation deeds of easement.
