Description
The California Transportation Commission runs this statewide competitive program, established by the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 (SB 1). It funds capital projects in heavily traveled, highly congested corridors that deliver measurable congestion relief while balancing transportation improvements with community impacts and environmental benefits. Projects must fit both a comprehensive multimodal corridor plan and a regional transportation plan.
Eligible work can span transit and passenger rail, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, managed lanes, operational and safety improvements, clean-vehicle infrastructure, and transportation technology. The Commission encourages innovative, multimodal approaches that expand travel choices, advance transportation equity, preserve community character, and support neighborhood improvements.
